Alissa Morrison is a 24-year old entrepreneur, currently in the process of opening a women’s clothing boutique. Alissa was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from St. Ambrose University, double majoring in Business Management and Marketing. She aspires to be a “serial entrepreneur”, eventually creating her own lifestyle brand and running a successful business empire.
Alissa’s entrepreneurial spirit began at a young age, when she began her first non-profit business making homemade soap, and donating the profits to her local Humane Society. She has always had a charitable spirit, aiming to inspire goodness in the world around her. Alissa has been involved with numerous charities over the years, including Operation: READ of the United Way, Happy Joe’s Kids Foundation, and the Humane Society of Scott County, among others.
Alissa began her journey to Miss Iowa USA five years ago, where she first placed in the Top 15, despite having absolutely zero prior knowledge of pageants or the Miss Universe Organization. Realizing this organization had the potential to positively change her life forever, Alissa began working on her dream. With great fortitude, she continued to place higher until eventually realizing her dream of becoming Miss Iowa USA 2016 on October 11, 2015.
In her spare time, Alissa is a high-spirited adrenaline-junkie. She enjoys skydiving, going to amusement parks, riding motorcycles, and working out. To cool down, Alissa loves healthy cooking, watching Food Network religiously, reading and writing, and spending time with her family and three Pomeranians.
